Lyrics

You - light up a cigarette
And I pour the wine
Red - just like the colour at the back of my mind
We sing in time
Your eyes meet mine and never miss
I could stay in there forver but I break it with a kiss
This
Might be forever but then again I've been here before
I turn the key
Inside the door
Behold a ball of light
A couple of Becks down
our necks
and
some text turns to sex
and that sex turns to death
And we've only us left
See the army can't protect us
cos rain's poison
We got us a dust bowl, some glaciers and a swamp to make a noise in
Yeah, the toys are in the attic
The tsunami's in the living room
The army's in the park, we should be giving room
But like Bragg says - we was dancing, disgusting
And chucking our babies - in the dustbin
So nowadays I'm bustin
From the dome that I'm concussed in
And I still aint found no one I can completely put my trust in
And my mum - could have done the same as this
And her son - he wouldn't have to play at this
And our son - he doesn't exist beacuse we killed him
But maybe we were just shipbuilding
I'll let you know
Dead Babies - I thought it would last, but then I don't think just so I don't get caught in the past
The world we're living in is cold, I know they've made it like a prison but we have to look to us to be forgiven
Dead Babies - its always the same
I know that we can make a river just like every drop of rain
but the world is full of water and not all of us can swim
And if you don't know its a game then there aint no way you can win
I read this poem by Spike Milligan
That got me ill but then
I dint know that the same preachers pushing
pills were pushing sillicon
Enforcing ritlain
and making billions from killin them
women in they millions
Who already are living
And
them right-to-life types
That lost they hindsight
Will beat they wives
till
they've lost they eyesight
And I know what that's like
But Spex Saved Us
Now I see all the dirt among the grass your God gave us
And who remains nameless
Will not be gone in vain
He's in the eyes of all those wives outside your window pane
She's in the breath of all the boys we sent to slaughter other boys
He's In the weeping of the wizened
She's the shreiking in the prisons
Dead Babies - I thought it would last, but then I don't think just so I don't get caught in the past
The world we're living in is cold, I know they've made it like a prison but we have to look to us to be forgiven
Dead Babies - its always the same
I know that we can make a river just like every drop of rain
but the world is full of water and not all of us can swim
And if you don't know its a game then there aint no way you can win
So
Sarah loved God and God loved Sarah
But what God gave Sarah Sarah couldn't bear to bear
For various reasons, plentiful and clear to many
But then an another bunch of people couldn't think of any
They shunned Sarah
And she alone was left to deal with what she'd done
And she couldn't tell her Daddy and she couldn't tell her Mum
The Word was written
But the world was diffrent
How could she align
That that was
with that that is
and what will be if given Time
I'm
unaware of answers
but that cancer comes with cigarettes
and I'm about as tall as I am ever gonna get
If we forget
forever
just for now
this moment
And decide that
You're beside me
Just say
"Come Lay Down Love And Die Inside Me"
Dead Babies - I thought it would last, but then I don't think just so I don't get caught in the past
The world we're living in is cold, I know they've made it like a prison but we have to look to us to be forgiven
Dead Babies - its always the same
I know that we can make a river just like every drop of rain
but the world is full of water and not all of us can swim
And if you don't know its a game then there aint no way you can win
