First off, Babydoll is currently enjoying radio play at XFM AND 6music. That is ace! Please let them know you are enjoying hearing it and want to hear it more. As far as I can tell, it is single-handedly responsible for extending the British summer time.

Fun fact about Gonazles’ Babydoll remix: he actually recorded it at the end of 2009, and at that time it was his first rap recording since his 2003 retirement. I like to think recording this is what gave him the taste for spitting back, leading to such classics as The Grudge and his recent Unspeakable album.

Speaking of which, I heard the demos of that record as he was wirting them, before his Buffy-composing brother whacked an orchestra all over them, when they had actual beats… and let me tell you now, the beats were amazing. Somewhere between Dipset and Mannie Fresh. That kind of thing. Amazing.

The following picture is of me and Gonz around 2002, When We Were Young. Gonazles is playing at the Soho Theatre all this week, if you are not going you are in a world of pain.
