In case you hadn’t guessed, the premise is this: every song on this mixtape samples a 1990s indie/britpop/whoteva song. Or is a cover version of one. Every song, bar two co-produces, was produced by me, and recorded in my flat. I am all over it, but my friends guest on lots of the tracks. It is ace on stilts. That’s all I can say right now, apart from:

Akira The Don – BOOM! (Remix) ft. Lethal B & Narstie
Akira The Don ft JTWR – Daydreamer
Akira The Don & Dego Brown – Melon Men
Akira The Don – The Tree
Akira The Don – The Fuzz ft Jack Nimble & JTWR

Carnage is awesome, more evil than venom due to the symbiotes host. Maximum carnage is probably the best mini-series in any comic ever.

Glad to see you appear in this one alot JTWR, will you be touring with AK at all?

You should come to leeds when he does. I (poorly) try my hand at a bit of freestyling with my mate who is getting damn good at scratching, and all i ever rap about is anime and comics. Well, mostly anyway. But i'd love to see someone as sick as you doing it in person.

Shit, jsut got the dahlsim reference too. Thats awesome. AK makes a reference to M Bison in another tune. This is why the music coming out of the Don Squad is so awesome, because its real man. British politics, british estates, british accents, real culture.

Dont get me wrong, theres some good shit coming out of america, but you cant beat this man. ATD, JTWR, Bashy, Narstie, equals anything they got.

Sweet man, thats a big name in the business. Good production means alot. Just look at what they did with Paris Hiltons voice to makea reasonable sounding single "stars are blind", my arse, her stylist is blind.

Absolutely bloody brilliant, yet again. Nice one Akira. What do you reckon you could do with Pixies or Mary Chain tracks? Or maybe a bit of Depeche Mode. If anyone’s gonna do something genius with ’em, it’s you mate.

    Cheers for a crackin’ compilation.

Fuck that! Whitening is NOT good for you. I remember there was a thing on T.V about the best Toothpaste. It was Colgate Total. I’m sure there have been tests since and this was a good 8 years ago. But that was enough for me.

Although I do like the shit with all the colours in it.

Yeah see that fruity shit was serious! Aquafresh in the solid tube. I haven’t had anything that wasn’t Total for a while now. My sister used to fuck with some baking soda shit for tooth whitening, it didn’t work. She had to get it done by a dentist. Colgate Total man trust me. It’s the way to go.

What are you fucking with now?

Its unique formula continues to work even after you stop brushing. Yes, even after you eat or drink. In fact, Colgate Total®; is the first and only toothpaste to receive the ADA Seal of acceptance for protection against plaque, gingivitis, and cavities. It’s revolutionary because no other toothpaste made in the United States contains the antibacterial ingredient Triclosan.

But is Triclosan safe? Colgate-Palmolive claims that it is. But some environmental health activists are not so sure. Triclosan is one of a class of chemicals called chlorinated aromatics, containing one or more benzene rings with one or more chlorine atoms bound to carbon atoms. Triclosan’s chemical name is 2,4,4′-trichloro 2′-hydroxy diphenyl ether, which is a complicated way of saying that it has two benzene rings bound in the middle by an oxygen atom, 3 chlorine atoms bound to carbon atoms, and a hydroxy radical (oxygen and hydrogen):

    triclosan.gif (2142 bytes)

What is worrisome about triclosan to some environmental health advocates is that its chemical formulation and molecular structure are very close to some of the most toxic chemicals on earth, the chlorinated dioxins and furans (referred to simply as “dioxin”) and PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls). For instance, the most toxic form of dioxin, called TCDD, has two benzene rings bound in the middle with two oxygen atoms, with four chlorine atoms.

Furthermore, it is common in the manufacture of chlorinated aromatics that the resultant chemical products are often contaminated with super-toxic dioxin. This is the case, for instance, for hexachlorophene, once a popular anti-bacterial skin cleanser, but now primarily used only in hospitals. This is because the chemical processes that are used to make chlorinated aromatic chemicals are also often the perfect environment for dioxin formation. Dioxin has toxic effects in the parts per trillion – one drop in 300 Olympic-size swimming pools – because it is a powerful hormone-disrupting chemical.

Colgate-Palmolive claims that Triclosan is safe, but to our knowledge has made no claims one way or the other about contamination by other chlorinated organic chemicals.
