McCain’s VP Wants Creationism Taught in School

palin

Fuck me that woman is scary.

Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin wants creationism taught in science classes.

In a 2006 gubernatorial debate, the soon-to-be governor of Alaska trotted out the usual creationist education canard: “Teach both. You know, don’t be afraid of education. Healthy debate is so important, and it’s so valuable in our schools. I am a proponent of teaching both.”

From Wired.

Teaching evolution and creationism in a scientifically balanced way is simply impossible. Evolution is accepted by scientists as driving the development of life on Earth. Creationism, which puts a (Christian) God in the engine room of life, is unsupported by science. Its arguments have been roundly dismissed by scientists — many of whom, it should be noted, believe in God. They’re just sensible enough to understand where science ends and religion begins.

Honestly if thats the worst you can say about her… thats pretty bad. While I dont believe in a christian god… untill you can tell me where all the pieces of the big bang came from, this woman isnt really doing any wrong. Nor would it ever be in her power to actually get this instated. What you should look at, is the fact she stood up to her own republican GOP and won her place as governor because the people knew she did what was right, and not what her party watned her to do. ATD, erm… pink bloby thing – i think youre awesome but look at her achievements before looking for shortcommings. McCain is entirely a different story and he probably is the devil. But Obama pledges socialism…. lol listen to his speech from last night… big govt big govt big govt and with all he wants to do… the money has to come from somewhere… and thats usually me. -lower class- and proud =)

To teach one without the other is counter productive surely?
