They’ll be bricking it when you draw for one of these.
Wowzers.
Bet Alan Moore can’t wait to play this…
From Playlouder:
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution declassified Army documents reveal that various forms of popular music were used as torture devices in Iraq.
The documents approve “yelling, loud music, light control: used to create fear, disorient detainee and prolong capture shock,” for use against “terror suspects.”
Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez, who served as U.S. military commander in Iraq, authorized the torture technique in September of 2003.
Binyam Mohammed who was held at the “Dark Prison” in Kabul, Afghanistan says U.S. forces assaulted his senses with a barrage of popular sounds, including Dr. Dre, Eminem, Nine Inch Nails and Metallica, leaving him and his fellow inmates screaming and smashing their heads against prison cell walls.
“There was loud music, [Eminem's] ‘Slim Shady’ and Dr. Dre for 20 days. I heard this nonstop over and over,” said Mohammed. “The CIA worked on people, including me, day and night for the months before I left. Plenty lost their minds.”
Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello, whose music also used, has joined with a group of other musicians to protest the use of their music as a weapon.
“I suggest that they level Guantanamo Bay, but they keep one small cell and they put Bush in there… and they blast some Rage Against the Machine,” said Morello.
From CBR’s Lying In The Gutter‘s column:
Grant Morrison is indeed writing a monthly Batman book after “Final Crisis”/”Whatever Happened To…”/ “Battle For The Cowl” and the like have wrapped.
And the penciller?
Get ready.
DC people tell me it’s one Frank Quitely.
Quite, quite excellent. I’ve got a couple of Frank’s art pages from his previous Batbook “The Scottish Connection” hanging in my hall. I doubt I’ll be able to afford any more now.
Yes, he is already working on it. Obviously.
Hey gang!
I am being “strangled” by the sadists at Virgin again, seemingly, so uploading things is proving tricky. Many hours work have paid off though, and the mastered version of Joey2Tits’ remix of ATD16‘s Bladed, from A Hard Toke In, now titled On The Roads, for reasons of sneakishness, is UP HERE FOR YOU TO HAVE! Damn, that was some buttload of commas, huh?
Oh the glory!
Its a good day – I didn’t even burn any toast. Or stub my toe. Real talk! You might think I am living the life of Riley over here, but in actual fact it is more like the life of Wile E… The Coyote. In a pink dressing gown. My clumsiness has been reaching levels of Laurelandhardian pathos. It’s just like a silent movie, minus the sweet, sweet silence. I am way behind on my plan to become Ultimate. If I was calling myself Ultimate Akira The Don you might be able to do me under trades descriptions. “Don” is kinda pushing it right now.
I am at least aware though. Whooee! Go me!
